A. We found no used bookstore that buys old textbooks . If the books are hardbound, they cannot be recycled. But one thrift store and the Omaha Public Library will accept them as donations. Paul Dunn, recycling coordinator for Omaha’s environmental quality control division, said paperback books can be deposited at the city’s recycling dropoff sites. Your nearest drop – off sites would be at 85th and Blondo Streets and at the Hy – Vee store north of 90th and Maple Streets.
Mary Griffin, adult collection manager for the Omaha Public Libraries, said all library branches will accept most books in reasonable condition.
